Advertising and Paid-Advertisement Disclosure
Neuroscience Daily publishes two kinds of material, and we keep the line between them visible.
Editorial content is reported and written by our correspondents and editors. It reflects our reading of the research and our own editorial judgment. No advertiser pays for it, reviews it before publication, or controls its conclusions.
Advertorial content is advertising written in an article format. On this site we label it "Advertisement" or "Paid Advertisement." We do not use the words "Sponsored," "Promoted," "Presented By," or "Brought to You By," because we think those terms understate the relationship. When you see "Advertisement" or "Paid Advertisement" on a page, an advertiser has paid for that placement.
What "advertorial" means here
An advertorial is a paid promotional article. It is created by, or in coordination with, a commercial partner that sells products or services in the personal-development and performance-coaching category. The partner pays for the placement and has a say in the message.
Advertorial content does not represent the editorial opinion of Neuroscience Daily unless we say so explicitly. Where our editorial coverage and an advertiser's message touch on the same research, that overlap does not mean we endorse the advertiser's product. Our coverage of a topic is not an endorsement of any company that advertises on that topic.
Material commercial relationship
A material commercial relationship exists between Neuroscience Daily and at least one commercial partner in the personal-development and performance-coaching category. That partner pays for advertorial placements on this site. We disclose this so you can read advertorial content with that relationship in mind.
We describe the partner in category terms here rather than by name. Where a specific advertiser's identity is relevant on a given advertorial page, that page carries its own labeling and any disclaimers required for the claims it makes.
Claims inside advertorial content
Advertorial pages may describe individual experiences or outcomes. Those descriptions are the advertiser's, not ours. Any outcome described in an advertorial reflects an individual's circumstances and effort and is not a promise or guarantee of a similar result.
